Testing the Anupam 200GSM Sketchbook: Honest Thoughts for Artists

Hello everyone! Sharing a quick breakdown and material test of a product I recently picked up for my daily traditional art practice sessions.

As artists, we are always on the lookout for budget-friendly practice gear. Here is my honest review of the Anupam Ultra Artist Drawing Book (A4 Size, 200GSM, Wiro Bound).

💡 My Verdict: It's a "So-So" product. Absolutely perfect for rough daily practice, quick sketching, and light medium tests, but it comes with some clear limitations that professional artists should keep in mind.

✨ What’s Good (Pros):

Paper Texture & Quality: The drawing paper quality is actually quite impressive. The 200GSM thickness handles pencil sketches, fine-liners, charcoal, and light watercolor washes beautifully.

Great for Practice: Given the price point, it is an excellent choice for student work, rough dynamic anatomy sketches, or general warm-ups.

⚠️ What Could Be Better (Cons):

Not for Alcohol Markers: If you use brush pens or alcohol-based markers, be careful. The ink bleeds heavily through the paper, making the reverse side unusable (as seen in my test images).

Flimsy Cover (Thin Dafti): The backing board and front cover are way too thin. For a professional artist sketchbook, a thick, rigid cardboard backing is essential to protect the artwork from bending and safely archiving it long-term.
